Please join the undergraduates and your fellow Alumni in celebrating the history, traditions, and brotherhood of Alpha Tau Chapter at the next Alumni Cocktail Party.

TKE Wins IFC Football Championship
|
|

After a disappointing 2008 season, losing to our archrivals in the semi-finals, TKE looked to return to the field in 2009 a better team. During the off season, many changes were made, the biggest being the starting quarterback. Continuous practice in conjunction with great talent left the team feeling confident for a great season. The team went 6-0 during the regular season with a huge win over archrivals and a final score of 19-6. In the semi-finals, we again played our archrivals and won in stunning fashion with a touchdown pass as the clock hit 00:00, winning 12-6. The following day we played in the final, beating the opponent 13-7, again with a touchdown on the final play of overtime. Football is the second major sport we have brought back the championship along with an undefeated season and we look to do the same with basketball.

The office of Fraternity and sorority life along with members of Drexel’s Greek community, Drexel administration and the DU police gathered together at the Tau Kappa Epsilon house for a Holiday dinner to benefit the children at St.Christophers Hospital through the Toys for Tots program. Members from each chapter not only provided a holiday dish to share but also contributed by either donating a toy or cash donation. In total, the event raised more than $300 and all proceeds went directly to Toys for Tots.

TKE vs Drexel Police Softball Game

Tau Kappa Epsilon along with The Drexel University Police Department hosted a charity softball game last Sunday in an effort to fight Alzheimer’s. The idea sprung at a dinner in the late spring when Chief Spangler and a few TKE’s were talking sports. A few months later the idea became reality and $200 was donated to The ALS Foundation thanks to the support of everyone there. This home run filled game was fun for players and spectators alike. Good weather and lots of burgers and dogs aloud for 9 innings of friendly play ending in favor of TKE. TKE and The Drexel Police would like to thank everyone who came out to support the cause as well as the University for allowing them to use the softball field at Vidas.
TKE Welcomes Drexel's Finest

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009, The brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon hosted and welcoming dinner for the Drexel University Police Department. Distinguished guests included Ed Spangler, Director of Police Operations for Drexel's Police Department and P/O Fred Carbonera. After receiving a tour of the TKE Mansion, the Drexel Police along with the executive council of Tau Kappa Epsilon discussed happenings around Drexel and how each could help the other in bettering campus and keeping the neighborhood safe. Following talks, everyone enjoyed a pulled pork dinner cooked up by Drexel's favorite chef, Taco Lou. All in all the dinner was a great success with talks of a TKE vs Drexel Police softball game in the near future.
Jim Tucker and Dean Ruth discuss greek life and TKE
James Tucker, Senior Vice President of Student Life and Administrative Services of Drexel University along with Dean of Students David Ruth visited the Tau Kappa Epsilon house this past Monday for a sit down discussion and dinner with the brothers. With the passing of President Papadakis, the personnel of the administration will shift around a bit. So, in order to provide the most for the campus and the neighborhood, Vice President Tucker, Dean Ruth and the brothers of TKE conversed about how the two groups could integrate and be more resourceful to each other in a number of ways. "Whether it be hosting events or collaborating on fundraisers, we would like to do what we can as a fraternity to aid the Drexel Community", said Michael Angelos, Vice President of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
